How to Choose the Right Face Wash for Your Skin

Most people tend to choose their face wash according to their preference of brands. They often think that, any product from a reputed brand should be good for their skin. However, that is not entirely true. You need to have the right information about your skin type, then choose the product that fits this type. Studies show that, skin does not look its best mainly because of not choosing appropriate product.

In this article, I am going to discuss about choosing the right face wash for your skin.

Understanding Different Skin Types

Oily Skin

Oily skin has a greasy shine. This type of skin is prone to open pores, blackheads, pimples, and blemishes. People with this type of skin needs to wash their face frequently.

Recommended Face Wash Type

You may use a clear gel based face wash or a cleanser. You must avoid cleansing milk or creamy cleansers. You can use luke warm water to wash face, but the last splash of water should be with cold water. Face washes with salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and tea tree oil might are ideal for acne-prone skin.

Dry Skin

This type of skin gives a dull and parched look. It also looks tired especially on cheeks and around the eyes. In addition, there may be fine wrinkles near the under eye area and on the corners of the mouth.

Recommended Face Wash Type

A creamy face wash that does not strip the natural oils off the skin is recommended for dry skin. You can replace a face wash by a cleansing milk for a very dry skin. Use baby oil for make-up removal.

Combination Skin

This is the most common skin type. It has an oily T zone(forehead and nose) and dry cheeks. This type of skin may show problems pertaining to both oily and dry skin.

Recommended Face Wash Type

For treating combination skin, both the skin types should be kept in mind. Products meant for oily skin should be used on the T-zone, and products for dry skin should be used on the rest of the face.

Sensitive Skin

This type of skin reacts easily to both heat and cold. Sensitive skin is generally dry and thin in texture. It also has a delicate look and is prone o irritation and allergies.

Recommended Face Wash Type

Look for products made for sensitive skin. Do not unnecessarily keep changing your product. Moreover, do not experiment on home remedies. Both of these can cause allergic reaction or irritation.

Normal Skin

This type of skin shows the least problem. It also has an even tone and a smooth texture.

Recommended Face Wash Type

Normal skin should also be cared for. Check whether the product is for normal skin.

Many people are ignorant about these things. They do not understand the harm of using a face wash not suitable for their skin type. For the sake of keeping a healthy skin, we should be conscious about this.
